Iqbal Chand Malhotra
Iqbal Chand Malhotra holds a first-class degree in Economics from Queens’ College, University of Cambridge. He is also a Foundation Scholar of the college and a Wrenbury Scholar of the University of Cambridge.
From 1993 to 1995, he was an advisor on India to Media Moghul Rupert Murdoch.
Thereafter, he launched the MTV Channel in India and also advised Nickelodeon, the M Group and Space Systems Loral on their Indian operations.
Since then, as Chairman & Producer of AIM Television Private Limited, he has produced over 500 hours of television programming which have been telecast worldwide.
He has directed three award winning feature documentaries, namely The Legend of Malerkotla, Subhas Chandra Bose: The Mystery and Netaji Bose and the Lost Treasure. Two other documentaries produced by him, namely, Temples in the Clouds and The Agony of the Ganges have received international awards. His latest film Kashmir’s Troubled Waters received two nominations at the Asian Television Awards 2021.
He is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has also consistently served on the panel of Jurors for the International Emmy’s between 2009 and 2020.
Malhotra has physically attended over 26 MIPCOM and MIPTV markets in Cannes.
Malhotra is the co-author of the bestseller Kashmir’s Untold Story-Declassified and author of Red Fear-The China Threat. He has visited both China and Tibet.
Currently, Malhotra is Chairman & Producer, AIM Television Pvt. Ltd.
He is a black belt Sho Dan in Karate-Do and also practices Shaolin Qigong.
